Apex Award of Excellence: Real Warriors Campaign Web Site

The Real Warriors Web site won an Apex Award of Excellence in their twenty-second annual competition. The APEX Awards are based on excellence in graphic design, editorial content and the ability to achieve overall communications excellence. With more than 3,700 entries, competition was exceptionally intense. 100 Grand Awards were presented to honor outstanding work in 11 major categories, with 1,132 Awards of Excellence recognizing exceptional entries in 127 subcategories.

Videographer Award: Award of Excellence: Staff Sgt. Megan Krause PSA (59 seconds)

The Staff Sgt. Megan Krause (59 seconds) PSA won an Award of Excellent in the PSA Category for the 2010 Videographer Awards. These awards recognize outstanding achievement in video productions. There were about 1,800 entries from throughout the United States and several other countries in the 2010 competition. The Award of Excellence was awarded to those projects that the judges deemed were written, produced, shot and/or edited in an exceptional manner. Approximately 14 percent of the entries won this award.

The Lt. Col. Mary Carlisle Video Profile won an Award of Excellent in the Informational Category, video productions, for the 2010 Videographer Awards. These awards recognize outstanding achievement in video productions. There were about 1,800 entries from throughout the United States and several other countries in the 2010 competition. The Award of Excellence was awarded to those projects that the judges deemed were written, produced, shot and/or edited in an exceptional manner. Approximately 14 percent of the entries won this award.

The Maj. Jeff Hall (59 seconds) PSA won an Award of Distinction in the PSA Category for the 2010 Videographer Awards. These awards recognize outstanding achievement in video productions. This competition is for creative professionals involved in the concept, writing and design of traditional and emerging media. Hermes Creative Awards recognizes outstanding work in the industry while promoting the philanthropic nature of marketing and communication professionals. Hermes Creative Awards is administered and judged by the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals (AMCP). The international organization consists of several thousand marketing, communication, advertising, public relations, media production and free-lance professionals. AMCP oversees awards and recognition programs, provides judges and rewards outstanding achievement and service to the profession. Only about 18% of the entries won the Platinum Award, the organization’s top honor.

MerComm's 2009 iNOVA Honors Award
MerComm, Inc. was founded with the principal purpose of advancing the arts and sciences of communications in an international arena. MerComm's iNOVA award strives to establish and promote high standards of individual and collective achievement in Web sites.
Health Improvement Institute's 2009 Aesculapius Certificate of Merit
Named after the ancient Greek god of healing, the Aesculapius Award is intended to encourage and recognize excellence in health communications through the use of Web sites, or television or radio PSAs.

Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) Thoth Award, 2009
PRSA awarded DCoE’s Real Warriors Campaign the Thoth Award for the campaign’s press kits. The campaign’s public service announcements also received a Certificate of Excellence from PRSA at the Thoth Award Gala. PRSA’s Thoth Awards recognize the most outstanding, strategic public relations programs and components developed and produced in the Greater Washington area.

Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) Thoth Award, 2009
PRSA awarded DCoE’s Real Warriors Campaign the Thoth Award for the campaign’s public service announcements (PSAs). The campaign’s public service announcements also received a Certificate of Excellence from PRSA at the Thoth Award Gala. PRSA’s Thoth Awards recognize the most outstanding, strategic public relations programs and components developed and produced in the Greater Washington area.

Web Marketing Association's 2009 Military Standard of Excellence WebAward, 2009
The Web Marketing Association was founded in 1997 to set a high standard for Internet marketing and site development on the World Wide Web. The WebAwards is an annual website award competition that names the best Web sites in 96 industries while setting the standard of excellence for all website development.

FREDDIE Award finalist for Web site category, 2009
The FREDDIE awards are voted on by the general public and award winners represent excellence in a variety of categories. The Real Warriors campaign Web site placed as a finalist in the 2009 FREDDIE Awards for their excellence in presenting health information to consumers.
